- List all the social media channels you subscribe to, in the order of their importance to you.
- Link to each of your social media profiles.
- List three social media channels you would like to analyze in Week 02.
Replies

- Ask questions.
- Share a relevant story or experience.
- Discuss something you have in common.
- Explain why you would like to work with this classmate.
- Support one of their ideas with a related website or resource.
- Suggest a new social media channel to them.
Affirmations such as "nice post," "good introduction," or "I agree" are not adequate for this discussion. Instead, be thorough and thoughtful. Your replies should start a conversation, not end it.

- Professor's Name
- Section Number
- A screen shot of your original (expanded) Facebook post

This discussion takes place in your section's Facebook page.
As a designer of social media, it is important to differentiate what is and isn't social media.
Review the definition of social media provided in Reading 01, which is this: "Social media is a place where users can connect, interact, create, and share content." Then do the following:
- Use the four criteria for evaluating a site's social media functionality.
- Evaluate twelve websites, select 3–5 sites that are social media sites, 3–5 sites with little or no social media functionality, and 3–5 others that aren't social media (twelve sites total).
- Categorize your list: Social, Some social functionality, Not social.
- Post to this week's FB thread and build your table in the software of your choice like Microsoft Word or Google Drive, take a screenshot of it and upload the image. For example:
| Site | Connect | Interact | Create | Share | Category |
| something.com | x | x | x | - | Some Social Functionality |
| another.org | x | x | x | x | Social |
| onemore.net | - | - | - | - | Not Social |
